About Geelong BCF
With so much on offer in Geelong and its surrounding areas, BCF Geelong can help you enjoy camping at its best, haul in a trophy fish, 4WD some beautiful tracks, or just sit back in a comfy chair and Weber up some awesome meals.
For beginner fishers and seasoned anglers alike, BCF Geelong is conveniently located close to several popular fishing locations. The tuna fishing off Ocean Grove has been improving every year and the snapper season in Corio Bay is now almost 12 months long. There are also a few surf beaches near Geelong such as 13th Beach where you can target salmon and gummy sharks, then turn around and go to any one of the local inland rivers to chase wild brown trout. To help you land your target species, our BCF’ing experts can help spool your reel, recommend rods and lures, give you a rundown on the latest sounder features and provide relevant advice on the local area.
When you head out on your boat to Barwon River or the Geelong waterfront, you can still drop a line, however, kayaks and stand up paddleboards are a great alternative and can help you reach shallower, tighter areas a boat could not gain access to such as the Grammar School Lagoon. No matter which you choose, be sure you’re equipped with the latest accessories and safety gear. For boating, this includes flares, EPIRBs, PFDs, rod holders and marine oils. On a kayak, you can set up a fishfinder but you’ll definitely need a paddle and a comfortable seat.
Situated on the freeway entrance to Geelong from Melbourne, you’ll have direct access to the Bellarine Peninsula which hosts approximately 20 caravan and camping grounds for visiting tourists. For these areas, and even if you’re heading out of region, stop into BCF Geelong to pick up camping essentials such as a swag, air bed, portable toilets and showers, gazebo or tarp for shelter, camp chairs for comfort and a hiking stove or cast iron cookware. With the caravan in tow, be sure to bring portable solar panels if you’re setting up at an unpowered site along with a camping lantern, privacy screens, a caravan cover and water tank.
For four-wheel drive enthusiasts, there are several 4wd tracks in the area that are great for beginners or those who like to test the limits of their vehicle. When hitting these tracks, we recommend equipping your vehicle with UHF communications and recovery gear.
No matter where you’re heading on your next adventure, BCF Geelong provides a full suite of boating, camping and fishing gear from the best outdoor specialists. Stop in and chat with our BCF’ing experts for the best advice, competitive pricing and a full range of outdoor equipment.
