The Tackle Tactics Snapper Barra jig heads feature razor-sharp Gamakatsu hooks for high strength and instant hook penetration. They have been developed to excel in nearly every fishing application.
The 1oz jig will give you the ability to cast much further than before, and you will need to match it with a medium to heavy outfit. The 1/8oz, 5/0 jig head, fitted with a 5 or 7-inch soft plastic would work well over shallow coral reefs or bomboras.
The Multi-grip grub keeper holds your plastic snugly in place against the base of the weight, and prevents the bait twisting on the shank, so when the lure is being worked across the surface, the soft plastic will stay attached to the jig head.
This is an ideal jig head, whether working the surface or close offshore reefs. When fishing in amongst the mangroves up north, if you position the hook point so that it’s resting against the top of the plastic, you will nearly have a weedless rig.
