To prevent this, Shimano have created a hydrothermal Drag System, which compensates for heat build-up and maintains a constant drag-setting. The drag washer is made from graphite and prelubricated to protect the reel from salt water, and ensure it will always run smoothly. Adding to the strength, there's 4 A-RB anti-rust bearings, machined aluminium frame and sideplates, and a cold-forged aluminium stool, all of which gives you a line capacity of 14kg and 640m - great for big fighting fish.
