The quality of a down jacket is measured by its ‘fill weight' (the quantity of down used) with a higher number generally signifying a warmer jacket. Fill power is another feature you will want to look for. This is the jackets ability to trap air and a decent duck or goose down jacket has a pill power between 350-900.
