Sleeping Bags

It's a good idea to wash your sleeping bag at least once per season. We recommend heading down to your local laundromat to take advantage of their over sized washers and dryers. Pop the sleeping bag in the washing machine on a gentle cycle in cold water. To dry a sleeping bag, nothing beats air drying, but if you're short on time, you can pop it in a large dryer at the lowest temperature available. Make sure the sleeping bag is completely dry before storing away.

To extend the lifetime of your sleeping bag, it's best to stuff your sleeping bag into the compression sack, rather than folding or rolling. This prevents the fibers wearing down overtime if consistently folded and rolled in the same spot. To stuff the sleeping bag into the compression sack, first grab the foot end and push it right to the bottom of the compression sack. Continue to stuff more of the sleeping bag into the sack, ensuring you keep lots of pressure applied to push the air out and ensure the entire sleeping bag can fit inside the bag.

Sleeping bags are most commonly filled with down or synthetic material. Synthetic sleeping bags are the most commonly used and create great, all purpose sleeping bags. Down sleeping bags are perfect for those who want premium insulation without adding too much weight.

Sleeping bags are fantastic for creating a barrier between your body and the cooler air outside the bag. Sleeping bags trap air in a small area and prevent it from circulating with cooler air outside. The trapped air inside the sleeping bag is warmed by the heat created by your body's metabolism.
