Episode 1
Catching Carp with Kids
In this episode of Bread and Butter, Toby, Luca, and Jono link up for a session chasing European carp in a metropolitan lagoon. The trio focus on catching a carp, and as it’s considered a pest species, then take us through how to properly dispose of it.
This style of fishing is as simple as it gets and being accessible super close to home, is an awesome and easy way to learn to how to fish while cleaning up our waterways in the process.

Prawning with scoop nets
Whether you’re chasing bait or something tasty to put on the plate, prawns are very hard to beat. What’s even better is that they’re super fun for the kids to catch requiring minimal gear and a keen eye.
In this episode of Bread and Butter, Michael ‘Guesty’ Guest teams up with the Torrance family to go bait collecting at night around the shallows for prawns. It is safe to say that after only one hour, there is enough bait for fishing all the next day!

Top Tips for Jetty Fishing
Fishing off a jetty is where a lot of Fishos started their journey, and on this episode of Bread and Butter, Kristin ‘Goody’ Goodchild runs us through her top tips for a day out on the pier
Kristin shows us what fun you can have by just getting out there and giving it a go even if the fish aren’t biting! Jetty fishing is a safe and enjoyable way to teach kids how to fish, so grab a couple of tips for Kristin and get out there

Trout Fishing in Streams
Here’s one for those who are up for a challenge and really want to stretch their fishing skills! Trout are an acrobatic little fish but despite their small size put up an epic fight and can be targeted using a range of lures.
On this episode, Jono and Stella link up for a session chasing trout in a small inland stream. The duo spends the day casting lightly weighted soft plastics for these acrobatic fish, and cover what it takes to develop your skills to be able to do this fishing by yourself

Beach Fishing Basics with Guesty
On this episode of Bread and Butter, Guesty runs us through the basics of fishing from a beach. With no boat, 4wd or kayak needed, this is a great way to get out with kids and experience what the Aussie coastline has to offer. As a bonus, you’ll even learn how to correctly dispose of your catch if you want to take something home for dinner.
