- Colours will change at different depths in the water. E.g. the colours red, orange and yellow become grey after going down around 25 feet whereas blue doesn’t start becoming grey until around 250 feet.
- A general rule of thumb is to use a natural colour in clearer water to mimic the baitfish in the area. In dirty water, a bright or even a very dark coloured lure will draw more attention. If you are fishing at night, darker coloured lures will cast a shadow to draw the fish in.
