Trailer Winches
Trailer winches come with different load ratings and speeds. Atlantic winches have ratings from 300-1000kg. They are dacromet coated, which helps to prevent corrosion. There are both webbing and cable options available.
Expert Tip
When purchasing a winch for your boat is to know the weight of your boat, plus the weight of any extras (outboard, gear, etc.).
It doesn’t hurt to overestimate.
Jockey Wheels
There are a few different types of jockey wheels. The first is a standard jockey wheel with no clamp that has an adjustable height. The second is a swing jockey wheel that also has adjustable height setting as well as a spring clamp system that allows the whole wheel to turn horizontally.
Trailer lighting
Trailer lights are available in both LED and standard bulbs. Most trailer lights are submersible, so if it’s for your boat trailer, make sure you grab the right one. Lighting boards are a great option for your basic boat trailer, they are easy to attach and detach and come with 8m of cable.
Trailer Locks
When it comes to the security of your trailer you can never be too safe. Heavy duty trailer locks are a perfect way of ensuring your trailer is safe at the boat ramp.
Boat Rollers
- Black rubber rollers can be used on either aluminium or fibreglass boats. They are a budget type roller and are of lesser quality. They can sometimes crack from over use.
- Blue HDPE Polyethylene Plastic Rollers are commonly used with aluminium boats and trailers. They are a high quality plastic and have less chance of cracking.
- Polyurethane Rollers are mainly used with fibreglass boats. Urethane is a softer material than polyethylene, therefore more suited for glass boats. They are commonly found in red. However some wobble rollers are available in blue, black and red.
Expert Tip
Regularly clean your urethane rollers as this will increase their life span.
