The motor on your boat is a substantial investment and it pays to protect it from the elements as best as you can to prevent costly repairs or worse! Using your boat in saltwater is the worst thing you can do to your pride and joy but as we enjoy chasing the inhabitants of the ocean we have little choice but to take action to prevent damage to your expensive motor.
Saltwater is very corrosive and when the motor draws water in through the impellor and into the cooling channels it leaves deposits of minerals, these mineral deposits build up and insulate the cooling channels and as a consequence the efficiency is reduced.
MACS Ultrafilm is an additive that is used when flushing the motor, this additive gently removes the build up of minerals and leaves a protective film that helps reduce pitting. Pitting is the result of mineral deposits that have broken the surface of the alloy, once this begins then without using MACS Ultrafilm the pitting will continue.
The most effective way to use MACS Ultrafilm is with the Injector Kit which is similar to flush muffs, depending on your size of your motor the required amount of solution is drawn into the cooling channels with the water pressure from a typical garden hose. For a small motor each flush will cost about 40 cents which is incredibly cheap and offers great peace of mind.
